Day 5: Faith Receives What Hope Expects

Faith Receives What Hope Expects

“Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.” — Hebrews 11:1 (TPT)

Hope and faith are close companions, but they are not the same thing. Hope looks ahead and says, "Something good is coming." Faith reaches out and says, "I receive it now." Hope sees the promise in the distance. Faith takes possession of it. Both are essential in God's healing process.

Imagine ordering a package online. Once the order is placed, you expect it to arrive. You may even track its progress as it moves closer to your home. That expectation is hope. But when the package arrives, someone must open the door and receive it. That is faith. Hope anticipates the delivery; faith receives what has been delivered.

Many people live with hope but never move into faith. They believe God may heal them someday. They believe breakthrough may come eventually. They believe things might improve in the future. While hope is valuable, faith takes the next step. Faith believes that God's promises are true right now. Faith says, "What God has promised, I receive. What Christ purchased, I embrace. What God's Word declares, I believe."

Faith is not based on feelings. Some days you may feel strong, and other days you may feel weak. Faith is not built on emotions, symptoms, or circumstances. Faith is built on the unchanging character of God and the reliability of His Word. When feelings fluctuate, God's promises remain constant. When circumstances change, God's faithfulness never changes.

The Passion Translation says that faith brings our hopes into reality. What a beautiful picture. Hope dreams of a better future, but faith begins living in agreement with that future today. Hope sees healing on the horizon. Faith begins thanking God for healing before it becomes visible. Hope expects recovery. Faith acts as though God's promise is trustworthy because it knows that God's Word cannot fail.

Charles Capps often said, "Hope is a goal-setter. Faith is a goal-getter." Hope points us toward God's promises and creates expectation in our hearts. Faith then reaches out and receives what hope has been anticipating. Hope says, "God can heal me." Faith says, "I receive His healing now." Hope sees the destination. Faith takes the first step toward it.

Here is today's exciting discovery: faith is the hand that receives what hope expects. Every promise of healing you have been reading this week is designed to move you from possibility to possession. God's Word builds hope. Hope creates expectation. Faith brings that expectation into reality. As you continue taking Heaven's prescription, your faith grows stronger, your confidence becomes steadier, and your expectation of supernatural recovery becomes more certain. Hope looks forward to healing, but faith reaches out and receives it.

Prayer

Father, thank You for the gift of faith. Thank You that Your Word gives me a solid foundation on which to stand. Help me move beyond merely hoping for healing into confidently receiving what You have promised. Strengthen my trust in Your faithfulness and teach me to believe Your Word above every circumstance. I receive Your promises today, and I thank You in advance for my healing, restoration, and complete recovery. In Jesus' name, Amen.
